It's been a long time coming, but Mortal Kombat's character add-on DLC will start with Skarlet next week and will be followed by an additional three kombatants at uncpecified dates. The scantily clad Kitana, Mileena and Jade-alike wields twin daggers and can stab herself to transform into a puddle of blood and move across the screen for her fatality.

Skarlet is a nasty piece of work, with some brutal stabby bloodletting moves and a suitably horrific fatality. You can learn more about her origins in the new story trailer from IGN, who also has the date for the Skarlet DLC's arrival on June 21st. There will also be a free compatibility pack to ensure that players without the DLC can still fight against Skarlet online, and the pack will also bundle a pair of Ultimate MK3-inspired skins for Cyrax and Sektor.

Skarlet will be coming to the PlayStation Store from June 21st for an as yet unspecified price and will be followed by Rain, Kenshi and a mystery character to be revealed. Check out the gory trailer for more.
