Call of Duty 3's online component is more robust on the Xbox 360, but there's still a lot to like on the PlayStation 3. Twenty-four people can play online, but whereas four players per Xbox 360 could go online, just one person can play on a single PS3, and there's no ranked play.

Wer es einmal Entwicklern in ihrem eigenen Spiel zeigen möchte, der kann am 18.01.2007 um 20-23:00 Uhr sein Können unter Beweis stellen und gegen Alex Conserva, Dan Bunting, Jeff Zaring, Jason Schoonover, Jason McCord und Jared Dickinson, den Entwicklern von Call of Duty 3 antreten! Dieses einmalige Match konnten wir für euch dank des XCN von Microsoft organisieren. Um daran teilzunehmen müsst ihr Folgendes tun:



1. Ladet euch die kostenlose Call of Duty 3 Map “Champs” von Xbox Live herunter
2. Meldet euch bei Xbox Live an
3. Sendet eine Freundesanfrage an den Gamertag TeamTreyarch
4. Geht zwischen 20 und 23 Uhr online und wartet darauf, dass ihr eine Einladung bekommt.

Sobald ihr eine habt, tretet dem Spiel bei und chattet in der Lobby mit den Entwicklern bis das Spiel beginnt.

Achtung: Im Moment funktioniert der Gamertag “TeamTreyarch” noch nicht. Wir versuchen herauszufinden wieso. Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um einen Schreibfehler und dieser muss “Team Treyarch” mit einem Leerzeichen heissen. Eine Antwort von Microsoft steht noch aus.

Kostenlose CoD3 Map heute? (Update)

Auf Major Nelsons Seite (Larry Hryb, MS Xbox Live) ist für einen kurzen Augenblick eine Nachricht aufgetaucht die besagt, dass heute (Donnerstag) die bereits angekündigte kostenlose Call of Duty 3 Karte Champs veröffentlicht werden soll. Kurz darauf verschwand diese Nachricht wieder. Im RSS Feed seiner Seite taucht diese aber immer noch auf und scheint vordatiert zu sein.

Call of Duty 3 - Status des Kartenpakets

Microsoft hat uns soeben kontaktiert und mitgeteilt, dass das fehlerfreie Call of Duty 3 Kartenpack am Freitag bzw. im Laufe der nächsten Woche auf dem Xbox Live Marktplatz veröffentlicht wird.

Spieler die das mit Fehlern behaftete Kartenpaket bereits gekauft hatten, sollen dies auf ihrer Xbox 360 löschen (Rechtes Blade im Dashboard/Speicher/Spiele/CoD3) und warten bis das neue auf dem Marktplatz erscheint. Diese werden das Paket dann kostenlos erneut herunterladen können.

Call of Duty 3 Update kommt

Entwickler Treyarch hat jetzt mitgeteilt, dass man zusammen mit dem fehlerbereinigten Valor Map Pack auch eine Aktualisierung von Call of Duty 3 durchführen wird. Folgende Probleme will man mit dem Update adressieren:

Da man beide Sachen zur gleichen Zeit veröffentlicht, ist allerdings noch ein wenig Zertifizierungszeit erforderlich. Einen Zeitpunkt wann beide erscheinen sollen und ob die letzte Aussage (Freitag oder nächste Woche) noch Gültigkeit hat, geht daraus leider nicht hervor. Wir hoffen das Update und die Karten erscheinen spätestens nächste Woche, denn man verspricht “in the very near future”.
